SPAN No. 2

Commissioned by Google’s Material Design group, this reader accompanies their annual design conference, SPAN. Taking place in both Tokyo and Los Angeles, the 2016 reader is bilingual (Japanese/English), and draws upon a diverse range of speakers from both locations. A series of colors and shapes were developed that serve as both interior die-cuts and a sheet of stickers that can be used to personalize the cover. Edited by Amber Bravo and Rob Giampietro.

SPAN No. 1

Commissioned by Google’s Material Design group, this reader accompanies their annual design conference, SPAN. Available to all attendees, the book comprises texts and images from conference speakers, and is meant to continue the dialogue of design and technology. The pages of the first edition are French-folded, with vibrant colors contained in the interior spaces of the folded pages. The interior colors add a subtle tint to the pages, on which the content is printed in black. The book is cased in a plastic slip-jacket with heat-embossed imagery drawn from Google’s growing icon palette. Edited by Amber Bravo and Rob Giampietro.
